Newport, OR – After nine years of service, Frank E. Brawner has retired from the Board of Directors of Oregon Coast Bank. A staunch advocate of community banking, Brawner was one of the seven founding directors of Oregon Coast Bank and later served as the board’s chairperson. A retired president of the Oregon Bankers’ Association, Brawner was instrumental in helping the bank grow to five offices and more than $160 million in assets. During Brawner’s tenure on the board, Oregon Coast Bank invested more than $275 million into the Central Oregon Coast economy in the form of loans to local families and businesses.
Cake and beverages will be served in Brawner’s honor on Thursday, May 5 from 2 pm – 4:30 pm at Oregon Coast Bank’s Pacific City office. The community is invited.
“Most people don’t realize it, but Frank was instrumental in the decision to open our Pacific City office,” commented Fred Postlewait, Oregon Coast Bank’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “He believed that the area would be better off with a locally owned and operated financial institution and he invested both his time and savings to make it a reality.”
