Newport, OR – The Board of Directors of Oregon Coast Bank has unanimously voted to promote Doreen Howry to the position of Vice President / Compliance & Technology. Howry has been a key member of the Oregon Coast Bank management team since the bank first opened in July of 2002.
A native of Toledo and a graduate of Toledo High School, Howry started her community banking career at National Security Bank where she worked for 10 years as a teller, note teller, new accounts representative, loan processor, loan assistant and in the accounting department. She then spent 5 years with Lincoln Security Bank, finishing her tenure in the position of Assistant Vice President, Loan Administration.
Well known locally for her civic involvement, Howry has been an active supporter of the Toledo Summer Festival and last year served as its chairperson. She is a member of the Mt. Baber ATV Club and a past president of the Toledo Chamber of Commerce. Howry was active in school affairs while her two sons attended Toledo schools and served as a cheerleading coach. Her son Joe, 25, currently resides in Toledo and is completing his last year of college. Her younger son John, 23, is beginning college in North Carolina after serving two stints in Iraq as a member of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. Howry and her husband John, as well as her two stepchildren and five grandchildren, all are residents of Toledo.
“We rely on Doreen for two essential functions,” explained Fred Postlewait, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oregon Coast Bank. “She has been a remarkable resource leading our technology efforts and she oversees the tremendous volume of regulatory and compliance issues that all banks have to address on an ongoing basis.”
