Toledo, OR – With construction of its new Toledo office proceeding rapidly, Oregon Coast Bank has added two key employees to its Toledo staff. Jodie Thompson will work directly with customers at the office’s New Accounts desk and Stephanie Boydston has been hired as a teller. Last month the bank had announced that Toledo resident Jake Postlewait would serve as Branch Manager and Robin Brown, also a Toledo resident, would be the office’s Operations Supervisor.
Thompson has lived her entire life in Toledo. She first learned the banking business during high school while working at National Security Bank. After graduating from Toledo High School, she attended Lane Community College and then began an 18-year career with Georgia Pacific. In recent years, she has worked as a bookkeeper for her family’s business, ran a business of her own and worked for Bank of the West.
Jodie and her husband Hoss, a logger, have two children – Cass, a student at Western Oregon State College and Jessica, a junior at Toledo High School. A former Toledo High School athlete, Jodie Thompson currently coaches throwing events for the Toledo High School Track Team. Over the years she has also coached youth teams in basketball, softball, t-ball and volleyball. She currently serves as a mentor in Toledo High School’s Aspire program. “When it comes to customer service, everyone at Oregon Coast Bank has a real can-do attitude,” commented Thompson. “I’m really looking forward to being part of the team that opens the new Toledo office.”
Also a lifetime resident of Lincoln County, Boydston has resided in Eddyville for the past eight years. Before graduating from Eddyville High School, she worked at Mo’s on Newport’s bayfront. Boydston then spent seven years with West Coast Bank in Newport and Toledo, working principally in the areas of loan service and compliance. For the past several years she has done independent drafting work for Georgia Pacific and the PUD.
Stephanie and her husband Johnny, a Georgia Pacific employee, have five daughters and step-daughters: Hillary, 25, a resident of Spokane; Holly, 23, who lives in Toledo; Julie, 23, of Fairbanks Alaska; Hannah, 21, of Eddyville; and Sonya, 18, also of Fairbanks. Last year the couple became proud grandparents for the first time. As her children grew up, Stephanie volunteered in local schools. Besides gardening and raising goats, she spends most of her leisure time with family camping, hunting and bike riding. “Helping to launch Oregon Coast Bank’s new Toledo office was an offer I just couldn’t pass up,” explained Boydston. “I’m really looking forward to becoming involved in the Toledo community.”
While they wait for the construction of Oregon Coast Bank’s Toledo office to be completed, both Thompson and Boydston are training in Oregon Coast Bank’s Newport office. “We’re very excited about the team we’ve put together to open our new Toledo office,” said Fred Postlewait, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oregon Coast Bank. “They’re experienced, they’re respected in the area, and they truly believe in community banking.”
Oregon Coast Bank, which has more than $134 million in assets, currently operates offices in Newport, Lincoln City, Waldport and Pacific City. The bank’s new Toledo office will be located at the intersection of NW First Street and NW A Street, across from the Toledo Post Office. Oregon Coast Bank is known as an active lender, having reinvested more than $250 million back into the communities it serves in the form of loans to local families and businesses.
