Newport, OR – The Board of Directors of Oregon Coast Bank has elected three officers to two-year terms. Duane Edwards will succeed Dr. Richard Beemer as Chairman. Beemer will continue to actively serve on the board. Ralph G. Hawley III has been elected Vice Chairman and Frank Brawner has been elected to a second term as Secretary.
Edwards has more than 30 years of commercial fishing experience as the owner/operator of vessels that fish from California to Alaska. He was a founding member of the Oregon Coast Bank board and has been a resident of South Beach for more than 30 years.
Hawley is part owner and President of Quade Commercial Construction Corporation of Lincoln City. He has worked for the company for more than 25 years, serving as a field superintendent prior to being appointed president. Also a founding member of the Oregon Coast Bank board, Hawley is a resident of Otter Rock.
Brawner is a retired Chief Executive Officer of the Oregon Banker’s Association and the Independent Community Banks of Oregon. From 1991 to 1998 he also served as Executive Vice President of the Oregon Mortgage Bankers Association. A full time Neskowin resident for seven years and a part time resident for more than 20, Brawner was also a founding member of the Oregon Coast Bank board.
Oregon Coast Bank, Lincoln County’s only locally-owned and operated financial institution, has grown rapidly since first opening in July of 2002. More than a thousand local families and businesses have opened accounts and the bank’s total assets now exceed $47 million. Headquartered in Newport, the bank has actively reinvested in the central coast economy by making nearly 1,000 loans totaling more than $50 million. A second Oregon Coast Bank office will officially open during July in Pacific City.
