Newport, OR – Kevin Battles has accepted an offer to become manager of Oregon Coast Bank’s Toledo office. Prior to his recent promotion, Battles had served multiple functions in the bank’s Newport and Waldport offices as a management trainee. As manager of the Toledo office, Battles replaces Jake Postlewait, who recently was promoted to the position of Vice President / Commercial Lending.
Born and raised in Waldport, Kevin’s family roots go back four generations in Lincoln County. After graduating from Waldport High School, he attended Western Oregon University, where he played on the rugby team and received a degree in Economics.
While in high school and college, he worked for Norwood Built Construction. Before joining Oregon Coast Bank about two years ago, Battles was employed by Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
In his spare time, Kevin hunts, fishes, surfs and plays basketball. He has also served as a coach and referee for local youth basketball leagues. In June, he will marry Sandi Chiba, a teacher at Waldport Middle School and High School.
“As a locally owned institution, our bank can have a real positive effect on the area’s economy”, remarked Kevin. “We’re a great source for consumer, commercial and real estate loans, all of which are important for the community.”
“Being 4th generation Lincoln County, Kevin has a unique understanding of our local businesses,” explained Fred Postlewait, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oregon Coast Bank. “He’s a great representative of our bank and we’re glad he accepted the offer to manage our Toledo office.”
Over the last decade Oregon Coast Bank has grown to $174 million in assets and currently operates offices in Newport, Toledo, Lincoln City, Waldport and Pacific City. The bank has provided more than $462 million in financing to local families and businesses.
